BLOCKHOUSE SYSTEM

The charm of solid wood, inside and out

It is the traditional and fascinating construction method, ideal for building small houses, typically located in the mountains or in the countryside.
It is designed for those who want a home entirely made of wood, with a rustic aesthetic and natural atmosphere.

Construction features

  • The walls are made by overlapping solid logs (round or square).
  • The logs are shaped at the top and bottom to increase the adhesion between the elements.
  • The corner intersections between the walls are a distinctive architectural element and provide structural stability and resistance to horizontal stresses (wind, earthquakes).

Scope of use

  • Isolated single-family homes, mountain refuges
  • Cabins or holiday homes immersed in nature
  • Rural hospitality facilities (farmhouses, lodges)

Advantages

  • Rustic aesthetics: warm, welcoming and authentic
  • Exposed wood both inside and outside
  • Natural and sustainable materials
  • Good mechanical resistance and structural stability
  • Ease of installation in isolated contexts

Disadvantages

  • Limited design flexibility: only suitable for simple and small buildings
  • Lower thermal and acoustic insulation than other systems
  • Possible shrinkage of wood over time → maintenance and crack control required
  • Not ideal for urban environments or modern building contexts

The Blockhouse system is the ideal choice for those who want a solid wood house with a strong traditional character and immersed in nature.
