PLATFORM FRAME SYSTEM

Faster and safer for multi-storey timber buildings

It is the most common timber construction method in Northern Europe, used for residential buildings, schools, hospitals, and industrial halls.
Thanks to its versatility and the almost complete prefabrication in the factory, it is also the fastest to assemble on site.

Residential construction site with building under renovation, scaffolding, yellow insulation panels and a Schmidbauer crane.

How it works

  • Walls and floors are made of wooden frames (small-section beams) spaced regularly at 40–60 cm.
  • Insulating materials (glass wool, rock wool, wood fiber) are inserted inside the frame.
  • Wood structural panels are applied to the outer and inner sides of the frame.
  • Prefabricated walls come pre-equipped with plumbing and electrical systems, with door and window openings already made in the factory.
  • High-precision, earthquake-resistant and fireproof production, compliant with the most recent regulations.

Advantages

  • Extremely high thermal and acoustic insulation
  • Greatly reduced construction times
  • Increased site safety: fewer manual operations, fewer risks
  • Millimetric precision in installation of systems and structures
  • Perfect for urban settings, schools, hospitals, offices

Disadvantages

  • Less visually “expressive” design compared to solid wood solutions (e.g. Blockhouse)
  • Requires advanced factory technologies → not suitable for self-building or artisanal contexts
  • Less “visible wood effect” unless designed with specific cladding materials

The Platform Frame system is the ideal choice for those seeking speed, safety, insulation, and sustainability, all with industrial design of the highest quality.
Perfect for modern constructions that are precise and meet the strictest regulations.
